Designed in Sweden and built by Tyler Boat Company in Brough on the Humber (UK), to exceed Lloyds specification, the Ohlson 38 is iconic.
Apollo of Brough was built in 1981 and I modified her several years ago to increase the waterline length for comfortable, easy motion and speed. She is fast and manoeuvrable with her large balanced spade rudder which also assists in close quarters both forward and astern.
Apollo is a perfect cruising boat. With a beautiful handcrafted wooden interior, she is surprisingly spacious for her size.
I set sail from Grimsby in the UK in September 2015 with my partner (who had little sailing experience) and together we crossed the Atlantic. Apollo has been meticulously maintained and is well equipped for short-handed live aboard cruising. She would be the perfect choice for anyone who loves to sail, without compromising safety and comfort.
A full out of water survey was carried out in Lanzarote in 2015 and the standing rigging was replaced in September 2014.
